From Battle to Breakthrough: A Dream, A Message, A New Beginning

The night before I wrote this, I had two vivid dreams—each one distinct, yet deeply connected. When I woke up, I knew they weren’t just ordinary dreams. They were messages.

In the first dream, I saw three lions—one black and two golden brown with a white streak. The lions were outside my home, ferociously attacking one another. During the first round, they attacked one another. In the second, it turned into two against one. One lion died. Finally, it was down to the black lion and the remaining golden brown lion. The black lion killed them both.

Meanwhile, I was inside the house with my family, listening to the chaos outside—the roars, the growls, and the sound of claws striking. Driven by instinct to protect what mattered most, I began boarding up the doors and windows to keep the black lion from getting in.

And then just like that, the dream shifted.

I found myself downtown in my hometown of Mississippi. My family, the community, classmates, friends, neighbors, and familiar faces had all gathered together. We were dressed impeccably in white and ivory, lined up two by two, as if we were part of a phenomenal movement. I stood in the center, dancing and twirling—celebrated, joyful, free. In the background, I could hear a powerful melodic chorus echoing:

“I feel strong and I’m movin’ on… gonna feel so good, gonna feel so good, yeah yeah.”

When I woke up, it felt like my soul had been hugged by God.

What Does It Mean?

As a woman of faith, I immediately, in prayer, asked God, “What does this all mean?” I believe that dreams often speak when life is too loud. The first dream reminded me of the spiritual and emotional battles we face. Sometimes, those “black lions” represent fear, pain, or parts of our past trying to break in. But get this, even in the noise, it can also represent peace — we protect our peace. We board up what matters.

The second dream? That was clearly healing. A glimpse of what it looks like to come through the storm, grounded in joy, surrounded by love, twirling in the fullness of who we are.

If You’re Reading This …

You’ve fought battles no one has seen. You’ve weathered many storms, protected your babies, and sacrificed your own comfort to preserve their future.

But sis—it’s time to dance again. It’s time to stand in the center of your story, twirling in truth and wrapped in joy.

A Breakthrough Moment

Here’s an affirmation I’ve held close since that night:

“I have faced the storm and stood my ground. I am protected, connected, and divinely celebrated. My past, present, and future are aligning to reveal my wholeness. I am moving forward with strength, joy, and grace.”

And here’s a journaling prompt for today:

What does it look like for you to be “in the center” of your life, twirling in celebration, surrounded by the people and values that shaped you? What does “moving on and feeling good” mean in this season? Where are you being invited to reclaim your joy—even after the battle?

I haven’t posted in a while, but this is me—stepping back into my assignment. I recently earned my CPEC (Certified Personal & Executive Coach) certification, and I’m officially opening my calendar to serve and support single mothers like you who are ready to reclaim your peace, power, and purpose.

This is your reminder that the lion within you is not just a warrior—she's a woman of wisdom, joy, and worth.

Let’s rise together.

With love & power,
Gloria Coleman, CPEC

Disclaimer (with a wink):
Yes, I know there are no black lions in real life—but in my dream, there was, and that’s my story and I’m sticking to it! 😄 Sometimes symbolism speaks louder than zoology.
